Over the past year I visited the Red Desert, feeling the warm air passing by me as it gently blew across the dusty landscape. The golden sand reflecting the brilliance of the sun until all the nooks and crannies were illuminated in soft, pastel light. It's a magical area. But it's the horses that make this place sacred.
Running wild and free, these horses will take your breath away. Built to survive in the small corner of the world to which they are secluded, these mustangs are vibrant, healthy, and thriving. They are the heart of the landscape.
As with this Palomino mare, they embody their wild spirit as move freely across the land.
Very few of our country's horses have ever known this freedom. It is my hope that the ones who do will continue knowing only one thing. And that is the right to a life of their choosing, wild and free.
